  • On 6th and 7th of October 2018, the basketball team of the Him Jyoti School went to the Doon Global School for CBSE Sahodaya Basket Ball Tournament. They played their first match against Nirmal Ashram Deepmala Public School Rishikesh, in which Him Jyoti School won the match by the score of 28-13. Him Jytoi School played the second match with Jaswant Modern Senios Secondary School, and again they won the match with the school 29-3. They entered the finals and on 7th October Him Jyoti School played their Final match against Scholars’ Home in which they emerged Victorious.

  • On 7th October 2018, Him Jyoti girls went to the Dehradun Zoo for the Wildlife Quiz. Total eight teams participated in the quiz. There were six rounds in the quiz. Him Jyoti School stood first, and Brightland School was the runners-up. On 8th October 2018, Him Jyoti School girls went to the Forest Department to receive their prizes. The chief guest of the day was the retired forest conservation officer of U.P, Mr. Lakshmikant Shukla.

  • From 12th October – 28th October 2018 a football tournament was organised by Reliance Foundation Youth Sport. On 12th October 2018 the football team of our school went to Kendriya Vidyalaya, FRI to play the match against Kendriya Vidyalaya, I.M.A. Him Jyoti School won the first match by the score of 7-0. On 15th October 2018, Him Jyoti School won the second match by the score of 8-0. In the semi-finals, on 25th October 2018, Him Jyoti School won the match by the score of 11-0 and entered the finals.

  • In the final match on 28th October 2018, Him Jyoti School emerged as victors by the score of 2-1. Kanchan Negi and Ganga Vyas were awarded as the players of the match. The participants were awarded with certificates, medals and an overall trophy with the cash prize of Rs. 25,000/-.

  • On 27th and 28th October 2018 athletes of Him Jyoti School went to RIMC for 72nd Annual District Athletic Meet 2018. Him Jyoti girls performed exceptionally well. The medal tally is as follows:

  • On 29th and 30th October 2018, 15 girls of Him Jyoti School went to Green Lawn Academy for District Level Athletic Meet. Many renowned schools of Dehradun participated in the competition. The meet commenced with the march past followed by the oath taking ceremony. Him Jyoti School participated in many events. The winners of various athletic events are as follows:

    Under 14 Long jump: Rashmi Mehta 1st position and Garima Sharma 2nd position Shot put: Amisha Bisht 1st position and Kavita 2nd position 600m: Riya Rawat 2nd position and Mansi 3rd position 100m: Garima Sharma 1st position and Rashmi Mehta 2nd position

    Under 16 Long jump: Radhika Patwal 1st position Shot put: Mamta Rautela 1st position and Sapna Rawat 3rd position 800m: Reema Rawat 2nd position 400m: Suman Dhami 1st position and Reema Rawat 2nd position 200m: Astha Bisht 1st position and Astha Purwal 2nd position 100m: Ganga Vyas 1st position and Radhika Patwal 3rd position

    The overall trophy was grabbed by Him Jyoti School. It was an indeed a day to remember.

    From 28th October 2018 to 3rd November 2018, ONGC celebrated the vigilance week in which various competitions were organized like – slogan writing, poster making, essay writing and debate. Him Jyoti School took part in the English and Hindi debate competition. On 5th November 2018, six girls went to ONGC for the prize distribution ceremony. The winners in the English debate category were – Shalini Balodi, Meenakshi Negi and Tanishka Chandel and the winners in the Hindi debate category were – Swati Pargain, Ankita Semwal and Priti Gaur. On 9th November 2018, the basketball and football team of Him Jyoti School went to Rudrapur in Udham Singh Nagar for the 4th Uttarakhand State Olympic Games. Different districts participated namely Dehradun, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh, Rishikesh, Tehri, Haridwar and Pauri. Participating and playing matches with different teams was indeed a great learning experience for the girls. On 8th Dec 2018, 2 girls of Him Jyoti School went to Hotel Ida for the 2nd round of Discovery School Super League 2018. Many schools participated in the quiz from all over Uttarakhand. There were two categories. Category I for classes IV, V and VI in which Nidhi Tangariya of class V participated. In category II for classes VII, VIII and IX, Aditi Parmar of class VII participated. The results will be declared around the last week of January 2019. It was indeed an exciting experience. Him Jyoti School again stole the limelight with excellent performance of all the girls. Ms. Sonia Rawat is the school topper with over all 98%. Six girls in History, three girls in Hindi and one girl in Geography scored 100 %. This is no small feat as the students in Him Jyoti start formal English education from Class V and hail from the remote areas of Uttarakhand and Sikkim. Him Jyoti School provides free education to the underprivileged girls. This wonderful performance is indeed a standing example of sincere, work and right vision, which has the power to impact change in the world. Gunjan Pal tops Him Jyoti school with 96.8 %. In the much awaited CBSE class X result, announced on 6th May 2019. Him Jyoti School girls once again proved their mettle. All the 35 girls passed with first division with 13 girls scoring 90% and above, 16 between 81-91% and the remaining 6 girls above 60% Gunjan Pal from Pithoragarh scored 96.8. This is indeed a great achievement for the girls hailing from remote hilly areas of Uttrakhand and Sikkim. Acommendable accomplishment by the tenth batch, to stand with pride and at par, with other reputed mainstream schools of Dehradun.
  • Vinita Pandey, a girl from a BPL family had beaten students from elite schools including The Doon School, Welham Girls’ School, Dehradun,Vasant Valley School and Shriram School, Delhi winning the title and trophy of Youth L.E.A.D.E.R 2012 at a national level competition organized by GELF (The Global and Leadership Foundation)

  • Vinita attended a one week summer camp at the Brown University in U.S. Three girls and a teacher from the school went to Victoria College in Belfast (Ireland) in September 2012 on an exchange visit. Earlier, girls from that school had spent two weeks at the Him Jyoti School under an exchange program supported by the British Council.



  • Three of our girls are studying at the Asian University for Women in Chittagong, Bangladesh.

  • Our girls conducted a Dance Drama ‘The Ganga” at Dehradun and Delhi. The then Governor of Uttarakhand Mrs. Margaret Alva was the Chief Guest and Dr. Sitaram Jindal, an eminent Industrialist and Philanthropist was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Jindal gave a cheque for Rs. 25 lakhs for the school on that occasion.

  • One of our girls Shalini Rahi studying at Chittagong has been selected to participate in the RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) organized along with Rotary International Convention at Sydney, Australia in June 2014.

  • Girls from our school had participated in District Inter School Sports Events for the schools in Dehradun and Mussorie held on November 3 and 4, 2012. Our girls won three gold medals, five silver medals and one bronze medal. Besides, they won two out of four trophies earmarked for the games. Some of the other schools which participated in the Events are the Welham Girls’ School, Welham Boys’ School, Doon School, St. Georges School, Mussorie.
